Commission a Painting

Original Oil Painting Commissions by Kathleen M Robison

I love doing custom painting commissions for clients and their families. They make excellent gifts or memorabilia of a fond location. If you love my painting style, but want something a little bit more custom, I’ll gladly help you create the painting of your dreams. I have a streamlined process that will make the painting commission experience smooth and enjoyable.

Here are some of the most popular types of oil painting commissions:

Give the gift of an original oil painting for Anniversaries, Weddings, Mothers Day, Fathers Day, etc…

Original oil paintings make wonderful and unique gifts! Gifts for all sorts of occasions. I can create paintings of all sizes for the special occasion.  When you think of the particulars of your loved one or friend you are giving to, you know places and things they love so we can create a beautiful memory for them of a special place, or person or pet!

Figure & Portrait Commission Paintings

Figure paintings depict one or more human or animal subjects. The main focal point of the painting is the figure itself rather than the surrounding landscape. Figure paintings are often more casual than portrait paintings, and clearly depict the subject yet allow for creativity and motion in the composition. In modern times, the more casual and creative figure paintings are more popular than traditional portrait paintings.

A portrait commission is the most classic of all painting commissions. Harkening back to patronage culture of the Renaissance, it exudes nobility and splendor. It’s a great way to decorate your home with original artwork that can’t be bought off the shelf.

A portrait commission focuses more on capturing the nuanced features of the subject, and depicting the unique beauty of the person. I try to capture the gist of the person or pet rather than photo realism keeping inline with the impressionist tradition. Portraits are excellent for more traditional or professional environments. Thus creating something original, different, and unique.

I’m based out of Orange County, CA and receive numerous requests for paintings of Laguna Beach, Newport Beach, and locations in Los Angeles. I’ve also received requests for paintings of vacation destinations from around the world.
