Palms at Heisler 8×10 Oil

I painted this yesterday at Heisler Park, Laguna.  It was cold and windy so I painted quickly.  I got the gist of the scene done.  When I was painting I was in a quiet meditative state and this old man with a raspy voice walked by and started talking to me in a loud voice.  I was startled and jumped a bit.  He told me how his mother was a painter in Laguna and he had given all her paintings away to relatives.  As he walked away I realized about once a year this man walks by and tells me this……….I never connected it before…………as I continued to paint I wondered how many other painters he tells this to.  A lot of people stop and talk when you paint outside and it is fun to talk to them.
